Meet Andrew

Andrew Hooge
Founder and President

With close to 15 years of experience, Andrew draws from his diverse training background to combine his knowledge of skiing, strength and conditioning, and public health in his approach to getting skiers fit and healthy for the slopes. His clients have included top athletes like U.S. Extreme Skiing Champion and Team North Face Adventurer, Kasha Rigby, top collegiate ski teams, and recreational skiers from all walks of life.

Hooge has been skiing since the age of 3. He is a third generation skier with a family passionate about the sport (both his father and brother were heavily involved in the sport of alpine ski racing). His father has spoken at the International Ski Federations National Conference and houses one of the most complete private ski collections in the world.

He has incorporated his skiing fitness philosophy – the combination of balance, strength, endurance and safety – into his well-received book, FitSkiing…Your Guide for Peak Skiing Fitness (2nd edition, 2006).

Andrew Hooge has appeared in many media outlets including NBC and CBS, and has been prominently featured as an expert in the following publications: Ski Magazine, The Washington Post, L.A. Times, The Raleigh News and Observer, Muscle and Fitness Hers, The Rocky Mountain News, The Denver Post and countless online magazines and blogs. Hooge has also been a contributing writer for Ski Magazine.

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, holds a B.S. Degree in Sport and Exercise Science and has advanced graduate training in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Andrew splits his time between Crested Butte, Colorado and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
