Barbell and weight plates
STARTING POSITION
Standing
PROCEDURE
- Find the appropriately weighted bar.
- Hold the bar in front of the body with arms fully extended.
- Bend your knees and take a shoulder width grip on the bar.
- Pull upward explosively driving the bar up towards your chest.
- As you move upward your feet should almost leave the floor.
- Lower the bar back to the starting position and repeat.
COACHING KEYS
- Move the bar upward explosively.
- Use a certified strength or olympic lifting coach for instruction.
